Tuscany – Arts, Photography, and Daydreaming https://www.soyounfotoarts.com/blog/wordpress Sun, 16 Aug 2020 04:34:16 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.5.8 Trattoria da Vasco https://www.soyounfotoarts.com/blog/wordpress/2012/05/29/trattoria-da-vasco/ Mon, 28 May 2012 20:00:01 +0000 http://www.soyounfotoarts.com/blog/wordpress/?p=495 Thanks to Marco, we landed on La Montagna for another special aperitif. Two guys were chatting in front of the closed tavern ‘Trattoria da Vasco’ and Marco insisted to open for the special guest who came all the way from Australia. This absurd request was accepted delightfuly and we were treated heartily with mouth-watering handmade prosciuttos and salamis. The owner and amazing chef, Vaschino even offered me several special shots from the bar shelf. I could see this hearty and funny Vaschino’s fame on the wall with caricature and newspaper articles. The pleasant laugh busted when he was really talking on the ancient phone which we thought it was an antique decoration.

Da Massimo https://www.soyounfotoarts.com/blog/wordpress/2012/05/19/da-massimo/ Sat, 19 May 2012 00:07:48 +0000 http://www.soyounfotoarts.com/blog/wordpress/?p=482 Aperitivo: Aperitif : Alcoholic drink before a meal for the appetite.

It was one of delightful life styles in Italy I found about. I was really addicted to this late afternoon drink, which usually comes along with light tapas like high tea.

It was another aperitif excusion accompanied with sightseeings. My friend wanted to me taste a local Piadina at the mobile bar ‘Da Massimo’ on the hill. While we were chatting over Tuscany wine with the bar owner, local people were gathering around to have Da Massimo specialties. Construct workers, a professor, local farmers were all there to enjoy this afternoon delight with a happy talk and made a joke on my gesso leg – yes…what a journey! How can’t I love this aperitivo time?

Sunday family lunch in Chianti https://www.soyounfotoarts.com/blog/wordpress/2012/04/23/sunday-family-lunch-in-chianti/ Mon, 23 Apr 2012 06:15:42 +0000 http://www.soyounfotoarts.com/blog/wordpress/?p=466 I was invited to a Sunday family lunch in Chianti. My plan for Florence was hindered by my plastered leg and crutches. Instead, I had to take comfort from drinking un caffè in the cup printed with Florence scenery in this charming provincial casa. The warm welcome from my friend’s family consoled me and I was happy to be in the region where my favourite Italian vino came from. Cypress trees were creating the beautiful and unique Tuscany landscape along with olive trees and wineries. The art works on the wall of the house were telling me that the owner of house is an art appreciator: con il gusto del bello. Starting with the gourmet homemade prosciutto & salami antipasto, the feast seemed endless accompanied with cheerful and enthusiastic family talk.
