In this enchanting theatre, I felt empathy, humour, and reminiscence.

Semele Walk: Full of desire for something that can not be possessed.

My eyes were filled with the lavish fashion of Vivienne Westwood and my ears with the beautiful Baroque opera music and songs by George Frideric Handel. The costume and hair style of the musicians were the extra pleasure to look at. The group of choir members scattered among the audience and extended the performers’ space beyond the boundary of stage. Perhaps the reason for no surtitle is to enhence this multi-sensory experience.

Wreck: Full of musical incarnation for something that had been wrecked and deserted.

and…Rian: Full of delightful singing for something that has been forgotten.

I like Irish folklore music and couldn’t pass this performance. This new fusion music and dance had all elements of the reason why I liked about: Indigenous spirituality and most of all, it made me want to dance. The green stage invited me to join in the performers and to be intoxicated with the joy.

.

.

The colour of

red and green.

.

.

.

The ensemble of

classic and modern.

.

.

.

The feast of enchanting music,

performance,

and philosophy.

.

.

I am quite contented with Sydney festival programs which I chose this year.
