\u00a0The experiment with dots started with the series,\u00a0Fish Moons\u00a0<\/em>with an attempt to create the atmosphere of water and to\u00a0escape the rectangle frame. Even though I created another water bubble effect with dots in the new work, Wave<\/em> for the printmaking exhibition, Marked by Water,\u00a0<\/em>I have not recognised the ‘dot’ significantly.<\/p>\n

The dot appeared to me with its fascinating charm when I went back to work on my soft ground plate.\u00a0Now I can empathise the feeling of John Baldessari ‘s delight when he was placing dots on people’s faces. Now I can understand Yayoi Kusama’s obsession with dots.<\/p>\n

It is hard to define the meaning of ‘dot’ in my works yet as I just have\u00a0started\u00a0with it (with the delightful awareness). I mark dots for new exciting beginning.<\/p>\n

After travelling \u00a0Curve Gallery<\/a>\u00a0in New Castle and\u00a0 Warringah Printmakers Studio Gallery<\/a>\u00a0in Sydney, Wave<\/em> will be shown at Angel Restaurant Gallery<\/a> in Queenscliff in August.<\/p>\n
