This year, I joined in ‘Fringe Arts at the Forum<\/a>‘ as the part of Sydney Fringe Festival again with new body of photographic work, 7 Cardinal Sins<\/a><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n One of admirable artists, Hieronymus Bosch’s\u00a0The Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Last Things<\/em>\u00a0presents the eye of God in the centre of the painting,\u00a0implying\u00a0that no sins can be hidden.\u00a0<\/span>Inspired by the work, I have created performing self-portraits\u00a0with my own interpretation rather than focusing religious aspects.<\/span><\/p>\n : ‘Pride’ as the narcissism and pedantic attitude,<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>‘Gluttony’ as the desire of beyond the limit of food consumption,<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>‘Greed’ as the endless thirst of materialism,<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>‘Wrath’ as the out-of-controlled anger, <\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>‘Envy’ as the blindness of jealousy, <\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>‘Lust’ as the oppressed human nature,<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>‘Sloth’ as the irritating sluggard, which is referenced from the Proverbs:\u00a0<\/span>”As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him”. ‘Sloth’ also as the extreme laziness, which is driven from the Korean folklore about the lazy wife who starved to death because she couldn’t reach her tong to rice cakes on her face\u00a0that her husband place them on while he was away.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0Strolling around the gallery on\u00a0my invigilation day, I\u00a0sense the strong feministic concepts\u00a0from other participating artists’ works\u00a0with diverse mediums including the book of photographs,\u00a0 <\/span>silkscreen printing, sculpture, installation, drawing and painting.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 This year, I joined in ‘Fringe Arts at the Forum‘ as the part of Sydney Fringe Festival again with new body of photographic work, 7 Cardinal Sins.
